The markets

A key event in the life of the village, the market is a real place to meet and share. Stroll through the markets of Provence, discover the seasonal products and enjoy the beautiful colors of the South.

Provence market days are the best way to experience life in southern France. This tradition is not reserved for just Saturday mornings. Rather, you can find a daily market in some nearby town or village every day of the week.

Provence markets are a true feast for the senses. You’ll hear locals catching up with a friend or their favourite vendor. See brightly-coloured display of fruits and vegetables from the farmers market. Smell the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread and fresh and aged cheeses. Touch the beautiful showcase of French linens, flowers and lavender. And, taste a sampling of fresh olive oil or the traditional cookies called Calissons.

Every Provence market runs from about 9am to 12:30pm. Here’s your guide of the best markets to visit in Provence near the regions of Vaucluse and Luberon.
